Awesome! I love the fact that there is a specific order for the drops, not just from left to right :D

It was really fun to plan the path, great work!

Arno , wow! this is so amazing artwork :O did you use any models for any part of the cave or do you just start with an empty cave canvas and start painting with the objects like you would do with a paintbrush and paper? some details are just stunning. and this cave looks like a nice puzzle also, i'll do the paper work later :)

thanks nesdori / darkstoorm ! :-)

well from the very start i had the main picture in my mind how the cave should look. i started building/testing the puzzle part, and then created the artwork around it. i did use some images from internet for inspiration, but i did not use existing model. except for one part: the big face image is based on a symbol from a well-known c64 game (who can guess it? it's a very classic one.)

and dustin : do you recognize the color scheme from a cave by you?

Arno - um, no... i'm not so good at this stuff. most of the time, i just use randomized colour schemes until there's one i like and that's it, but i don't really keep the schemes in mind ;d

otherwise, i can only repeat what nesdori and darkstoorm already said - great cave!

brown/green combo is one of the dustin 's favorites so there are many candidates but i can't find an exact match; dbd 3 cave o is close

ok, dustin is actually the only one who could know since the cave i'm referring to was never officially released. the answer: it is the discarded intermission from dbd13.

that intermission is a funny series of "move or snap" tasks, and since i liked both the theme and the colors very much, i thought: let's make a bigger version at krissz ' site! :-D

Dustin, you probably already know this, but if you want to try something new, search for "pixelart palette". You can find a bunch of 3 or 4-colors palettes, like this for example https://i.imgur.com/xHdpijC.png

The highlights for each hue gives pretty good results and look very pleasant.

There is also a nice tool I use for graphics https://paletton.com/

To make a good color scheme For BD Caves, grab the fifth (bottom) dot on the color picker (the center part) and stretch it to the max (keeping it at the 45deg angle for the best results). On the right side at the preview, the first three colors are your #2, #3, #4 colors in the CKit - From brightest to darkest. Then you can grab the dot in the outer ring for a different hue.

This is an extremely powerful tool for any kind of graphical work.
For example, I use the following setting https://paletton.com/#uid=34h0Z0k8A8skl++bQlLuqlL++6L (I hope the link works)

# .font: font.text_1
yes, there are more ways. but certain groups have mutual dependencies.
for example, the 2nd half must be cleared before the 1st half, the 3rd quarter before the 4th quarter, etc... :-D

amazing puzzle! though i think there's quite a long time without action after the puzzle is already solved.
Arno - who knows? ;d

dustin : ok there's little action, but rockford still dares to enter a mysterious temple's underground dungeon, with the door closing behind him... ;-D

darkstoorm : if you like this kind of puzzles, i can also recomment my older cave 'call over telegraph'. not unique solution either, but certain dependency chains, achieved in a different way. :-)
