- CYAN SWAMPLAND -

ROCKFORD HAS REACHED THE FIFTH RAINBOW COLOUR, AND IT'S VERY SLIPPERY HERE!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A HYBRID OF THE BD1-I DRAINS AND THE BD2-E SLIPPERINESS, WHICH LEADS TO QUITE UNUSUAL FALLING PATTERNS.
AT THE BEGINNING, I OFTEN GOT CRUSHED IN AN UNEXPECTED WAY WHEN I TRIED TO GET AS MANY ΑΑΑ AS POSSIBLE, ESPECIALLY ON L5 (UPLOAD LATER) WITH HIGH SPEED, WHEN EVERYTHING CAN QUICKLY GET OUT OF CONTROL.
85Α IS A RELATIVELY HIGH REQUIREMENT FOR L1. FIRST I HAD 70Α REQUIRED, THEN 80, BUT THAT FELT TOO TRIVIAL TO ME - A LITTLE RISK IS JUST PART OF THE MAIN CAVE IDEA, AND THERE ARE STILL AROUND 20 BONUS ΑΑΑ, SO THE CAVE SHOULD BE WELL SOLVABLE ALSO FOR VERY CAUTIOUS ΚS.
I COMPARED THIS Α REQUIREMENT WITH CAVE F WHEN I DESIGNED THE CAVES. IN CAVE F/1, I GOT 57-59Α BY JUST THROWING THE ΒΒΒ THROUGH THE ΛΛΛ FROM LEFT TO RIGHT W/O THINKING, SO Κ WILL BE JUST 1Α SHORT IF HE IGNORES EVERYTHING. HERE, IF Κ LETS EVERYTHING JUST FALL THROUGH THE ΙΙΙ, HE WILL GET FAR TOO LITTLE ΑΑΑ, BUT ON THE OTHER HAND, BY JUST COLLECTING THE VERY NON-DANGEROUS ΑΑΑ BEFORE THEY FALL THROUGH, HE CAN ALREADY INCREASE HIS QUOTA CONSIDERABLY!

CLASSIC BD THEMES:
MIX OF ΒΒΒ AND ΑΑΑ FALLING THROUGH DRAINS (BD1-I)
ΛΛΛ CONVERTING BOTH ΒΒΒ INTO ΑΑΑ AND VICE VERSA (BD1-P)
SLIPPERY ΙΙΙ (BD2-E)

DIFFICULTY: 2/10 (EASY)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THEMATIC COLOUR: CYAN (180 DEGREES ON THE COLOUR WHEEL)

ACTUALLY, THE COLOUR IN THIS CAVE IS NO "PERFECT" CYAN BUT SLIGHTLY GREENISH WITH A HUE OF 176 DEGREES (FOR COMPARISON: GREEN = 120 DEG, PERFECT CYAN = 180 DEG). THIS WAS NOT INTENTIONAL, I JUST DISCOVERED THIS SLIGHT MISHAP WHILE RECREATING THE CAVE FOR THIS SITE :D

COLOUR 1 (ΓΓΓ): 80% SATURATION, 80% VALUE
COLOUR 2 (ΕΕΕ): 100%, 100% (PURE CYAN)
COLOUR 3 (ΙΙΙ, ΔΔΔ): 50%, 100%
remark: colour 1 is barely visible in this cave as there's almost no ΓΓΓ, but the ΓΓΓ colour also influences the ΑΑΑ which are a mixture of all three colours.

etymology of the name "cyan": likely from hittite "kuwanna-" meaning "copper blue".

oxford definition: a blue-green colour, used in printing.
(remark: in printing, cyan counts as a primary colour, together with magenta and yellow.)

In the light spectrum, cyan sits between green and blue; in the pigment spectrum, cyan is the definition of light blue (because pigment is subtractive, that is, it 'darkens').

correction: the cyan in this cave is slightly bluish, not greenish.
comparison:
perfect cyan: 180 degrees
the cyan in this cave: 184 degrees
blue: 240 degrees.

altermaven : true, the exact definition of cyan varies; it is either an equal mixture of green and blue (hue 180 deg) or a slightly more bluish variant (hue slightly above 180 deg). also in the history of the word "cyan", it was meant to be a shade of blue for a long time; the definition as an equal mixture of green and blue is relatively new.
