zoisite is a sorosilicate, belonging to the epidote group of minerals. it is found in metamorphic and pegmatitic rock. it has various colours, ranging from greenish, pink, blue and purple. Otherwise, it is either white or colourless.  
  
blue zoisite is known as tanzanite.  
  
the color variants shown here is the blue and purple variants, which is meant to showcase a small contrast from the prior cave (yugawaralite).  
  
the mohs hardness of zoisite is between 6 and 7. several factors influence the overall hardness.
