how many \ are possible here? i think that more than 1\ must be left behind here...

wow... 8\ left behind and i don't see an easy way to get any more...
i see 3\ that are absolutely impossible no matter what we do. in the map, these 3\ are on the third-last row. following columns (not counting the border): 14, 32, 35. in case of 32, i should add "...without getting crushed".
do you agree with these 3\ being impossible?

after some tries i'm also quite sure that those 3\ are impossible, and maybe even more... :-o :-)

Arno , i don't see any more \ which are individually impossible. but it might well be impossible to collect all the others in the same run!

with my strategy, i haven't found a way to get access to the 4\ at the right side. that's quite a unique problem in the history of bd2-p runs... ;D

so is 34/42 actually our last word? it's hard to believe that this is the max, but both robert 's any my demo show rockford's desperate yet unsuccessful attempt to get access to 4\ at the right... :o

i also think these 4\ are very hard to reach. but to be honest, the fact that some \ are really impossible makes me less motivated to put much time and effort in a max\ run. i love all\ runs, these are most insane, also to watch! leaving \ behind feels like "just not" unless the actions in the run are so great that they compensate for that pain... ;-D

Arno , i feel very much the same way. i was wondering whether you and nesdori would also feel like this. so this research topic has to end a bit unsatisfactory, but it still was great fun overall!

our results:
p/1: 41/41
P/2: 44/45 (no definite proof that 45 are impossible)
p/3: 38/38
p/4: 34/34 (relatively simplest)
p/5: 34/42 (motivation problems :D)

or would we like to end the project with p/1, firstly for completeness and secondly to have a more satisfatory finish? :D

well i found a way to get the 4\ on the right to get total of 38\. quite simple actually. the remaining 4\ on the bottom look very hard. probably unreachable even if i had motivation to try :)

great run nesdori ! now this amount seems really the max for l5 to me...

dustin : i still think this project was very interesting and useful. so yes it would be nice to end with p/1; i'd like to have that cave in the new engine, try to repeat one of my first insane runs ever, and perhaps create a compilation video of all 5 levels. ;-)

i personally think that p/1 is the easiest one to get all \. but that might be just a delusion because it's the most played. i played it a lot with c64 in the 80s and got all \:s already back then. but anyway i think it's the perfect ending to this series because if all \:s is not challenging enough, finding the cleanest route to achieve that might be :)

dustin , if you are going to publish p/1, how about putting the original time limit, time value and \ values this time instead of unlimited time and 1 point / \. if the cave is publiched, i'm thinking about doing a speed run and would like to hide my solution for a while and see if anyone wants to participate in a tough high score challenge.. :)

interesting! i started seriously trying to get all\ in bd2-p only a few weeks ago, and i tried all levels equally. under these neutral conditions, i found p/4 by far easiest: completely intuitive strategy and no big tricks to get access to single \. for p/1 i needed quite some attempts. - well, it could actually be possible that i'm not completely objective either, because when i watched Arno 's run years ago, i saved it in my head as "fascinationg, but impossible to ever be done by me". so i might have a prejudice of p/1 being "absolutely ultra difficult". still, i think that also objectively, at least my way to solve p/4 was much simpler than my p/1 solution!

dustin , yes it's delusion that i think that p/1 is the easiest. p/4 is the easiest without prior experience. i really like p/1 because it's not sequential; there are different ways to collect all \:s but also there are many traps and ways to spoil the run.
