thx  shredder  ;d actually i thought it was the only and intended solution becaue everything works out so perfectly.  
  
1. 7 is the maximum number of diamonds which can fall into the final area at the start. 8} is not possible according to my theoretical reflections.  
  
2. also, the tunnel leading to the final area is just so big that rockford is just in time to lead the first | through the magic wall after those first seven diamonds have fallen to the left side.  
  
3. in order to have 7\ first, no single \ must be pre-collected.  
  
4. in the final area, ^ must move down and collect some \ in-between because otherwise there wouldn't be enough space for all | to convert. also for this, the time is barely enough so that ^ is back just in time to lead the last five ||||| through the magic wall!  
  
 Arno 's intended strategy to create an alternating \|\| mixture also somewhat half-occured to me, but not from the beginning. i was convinced that the only possibility is to have 7\ first! ;d
