dustin , can be better :) one of the flies decided to go to wrong direction and made an extra loop so the gaps between last flies are unnecessary long. but on the hand it gave some extra time to deal with |:s so that there are no pushes at all (which require some luck) but all |:s are dropped

this sure looks impressive! i already thought Arno 's score would require such a firefly chain, but it didn't. it's amazing how the distances are almost perfect although it looks as if ^ had just released the fireflies "somehow" :d

dustin , i actually thought too that Arno released 2-3 flies at same time. that was my first idea but then i realized that heck, there's not big jump from that to release them to all! :) the overall spread of flies is quite nice and the gaps formed naturally. and if flies are packed too tight natural formations on the landscape are helpful to keep the gap. it's just important to avoid formations that are so deep that flies start colliding. for example the bottom fly's base is too big so when i with first attempts just quickly freed it the other flies started colliding causing too short gaps and flies changing direction. that's why i widened it digging beneath it to create two lanes. the route is also carefully designed so that each fly turns into the direction where rockford is heading; the only expection being the double fly which was quite painful to handle and i also considered skipping it entirely and free other flies instead because it caused irregularities from try to try.
