success for sure, but bonus\\? although they have no score, i'm not yet sure... ;-)

hmm... i was certain that cso forbids any bonus \, but now that you mention it, i didn't check what happens if ^ collects the top-left new-born \ before it crushes the next butterfly, stopping the chain. maybe there's some weird strategy from there :d

if anyone finds bonus \, feel free to re-upload the cave with more than 30\ required ;)

i don't see a way to get a bonus \. because there's no way to get 3rd row \:s, rockford must get bonus \:s by snapping \ beneath the falling \ during the same frame where upper \ falls. rockford must be located to the right of \-to-be-snapped. before snap, rockford must hold the falling \ from falling too early. it takes 5 moves + snap to get the bonus \ and during that, other bflies must support the falling \ from falling too early. but it's not possible because even with minimum gap of 1 for bflies fails. when the first bfly moves from supporting the \, the \ is scanned next and falls smashing the next bfly too early because rockford is still far from the snapping position. if the gap is 2 or bigger, the \ just falls to empty space and the chance is lost.

so: i don't think bonus \:s are possible :)

Well, I got 7 bonus \ ;)

darkstoorm - ok, with 1/16 luck it's possible of course :d it's true that i didn't take this into account ;)

nesdori - perhaps it might be possible to stop the mechanism after killing 3-4 butterflies and then try to use the diamonds to change the distance between the remaining butterflies, with the aim of creating a situation as in cso 131?

dustin , stopping the explosion chain is no problem and also using existing diamonds to change gaps in no problem. the problem is that the falling \ must be supported from falling too early before the snap (in cso131 there's no need to support it because diamonds are generated from the explosion at the right moment)

darkstoom, yes, lucky bonus \:s indeed are possible :)

i also had a crazy idea about using a vortex to support the \s. if it's somehow possible to build a vortex in a way that at the same time one additional bfly passes it and it's exploded so that the resulting diamond stack leans towards the vortex the support part is resolved. but then i didn't see a way how bfly can approach and break the vortex in a such way that one of flies gets exploded by the falling \. and even if that is somehow possible the other flies should not be trapped by circling around. major problems all along with that idea :)

nesdori - i'm afraid i don't get your point yet... what's wrong with the following strategy:
1. kill four bf "normally", then stop the mechanism by collecting the top-left \ before it can kill the 5th bf.
2. use the \\\ to change the distance between the remaining 3bf from 8-8 to 7-3 (see cso 131).
3. crush the leading bf and do the rest as in cso 131.

am i missing something or have you forgotten that we can still create new-born diamonds in the finish? :d

dustin , in point 3. you must use rockford to release the falling \ (because you can't use previous chain of bflies to do the \ supporting job) and then you have no time to relocate rockford so that he can enter the explosion in time to do the snap.

ok, proof cave is out! thx nesdori for making me ambitious! :d
but my solution of cso 135 would never be possible in 30 seconds, so the conclusion remains that there are no deterministic bonus \ ;)

right! :) for those who missed it: dustin made a proof-of-concept demo cave where here showed that my conclusion about chained snap is wrong and that it actually is possible. i concentrated too much on direct snap case and missed something. so i stand corrected. dustin removed the demo cave so that it won't spoil cso 135 so our discussion there is not yet available.
