another guess what? -puzzle. the standard rng and the seed. at first i was going to give a cryptic hint just for fun of it but let's see if someone can find the answer without any hints. this shouldn't be as difficult as #2 but it's also difficult to estimate the difficulty :)

this one was way easier than 2 because of a clear similarity. even the titanium border couldn't hide the truth... ;d

dustin , yes this would have been quite easy with 38*20 fill but i hoped that the border will confuse a bit. i guess that you already thought of this idea for previous caves and it was already on your checklist?

nesdori , it actually wasn't. but when i saw that the first row is completely identic, it was most natural to look for the second row, but it could nowhere be found! i especially looked for rockford's "parent boulders" to his left and right, but they weren't there. and then it hit me... ;d

the correct answer is that the cave is filled by doing a spiral starting from the standard starting point from the upper left and going clockwise. like this:

abcde
nopqf
mtsrg
lkjih

because each full spiral round reduces the area which is not yet filled by 2 both horizontally and vertically it takes 10 rounds to fill the entire cave.

although there are some clues what is happening i still was surprised that dustin got this in 5 minutes! :)
