all 8\ required and exit just below the bottom-left diamond. :-D

but no test from me as i currently have no idea... ;-D

Arno, there is one way, but I think it's not possible with the current cave. Maybe it would be a cool idea for a new cave. I did it with 3 fireflies in a fixed clone, but it requires one boulder to be removed like in the video https://streamable.com/jnati5

I tried with 2 flies, but I always ended up with one boulder rolling before I get to the diamond :(

The concept in the video https://i.imgur.com/pU1iaAw.png

darkstoorm , your video's first explosion is same as in my solution, the rest isn't :)

darkstoorm , if you read the original cave's commentary i already knew that this cave is possible. the interesting question is that is it possible with the original exit location. i managed to get quite close but still not close enough. so i think getting 8 diamonds is not possible on the original cave but i'm still not sure about it.

nesdori , you used 2 fireflies, right? I can't get the third one out

darkstoorm , yes, i used one firefly on the right pillar and two on the left but it certainly isn't easy to sync the last two. that was the most difficult or at least most time consuming part.

my demo free. the ending can also be simpler because it's possible to just get the diamond and run to the exit instead of dropping the diamond. this diamond gateway solution looks cooler :) i'm probably getting old because i sometimes prefer more aesthetic solutions to faster solutions :D and one reason is that this was one of the variations i inspected when i was trying to get 8 diamonds and reach the original exit.

when i was testing this, i also reached a position where there was a diamond to the right from the the bottom diamond so it was possible to approach and get the diamonds from the right side. but.. i wasn't able to replicate it. i'm not sure if i made a mistake with the test setup or somehow hallusinated. if it indeed is possible then another variation of this cave is also possible where the exit located one step to right from the bottom diamond.

Very nice run nesdori . It indeed looks cooler and I think it's easier to execute. Without dropping the diamond I couldn't see any way to get in, because one boulder always rolled into the spot

darkstoorm , both solutions require exact ´frame when to act. in non-drop solution rockford has to move (and get the diamond) just after the explosion gets converted into spaces and before the boulders starts rolling. in drop-solution rockford has to act one frame later so that the diamond will fall and rockford move during the same frame, otherwise the boulder above the diamond will block rockford. but in non-drop solution rockford must continue running towards the exit or it will be blocked and in \ gateway solution he can just casually wait as long as he wants before running to the exit so yes, it's more relaxed :)

Interesting, nesdori . This might be a good frame-by-frame analysis exercise for designing frame-perfect or extremely tight caves. I wonder how far we can get with this. Maybe someday we will discover some hardcore CSO spelunking :D

We already have an extensive article on Flies from Arno , maybe it's time to do some research on boulders/diamonds :)
