The cave has been compressed into minidash (30x16) format so the amoeba threshold is reduced. the central coverage is a little easier; getting the entire thing smothered not so much!

cyanite, also known as disthene or kyanite, is a bluish aluminosilicate, found in aluminum-rich metamorphic pegmatites and sedimentary rock. the presence of kyanite indicates deep-crust metamorphism, and is used by geologists as an index mineral to trace metamorphic zones. raw kyanite is used in ceramics and abrasives.

kyanite can also have a light green hue in lieu of the bluish tint, which is used in the original add3 version of this cave (#55aa55).

the mohs hardness of kyanite is based on the strike of the axis. when striking along the long axis, the mohs hardness is about 4.5; however, in perpendicularity, it is actually about 6.5. This anisotropism helps identify kyanite specimens.
