Okay, thematic time.  
  
the cave is supposed to start with all the excess ingredients being dumped into the cooking pot. The lower half of the cave is a high flame below the pot (as is old times). I used slime to add a little 'flicker' but also make the flame stand out in the snapshot.  
  
the flame is too high for the pot ("don't let the stew burn!") so the broth (the amoeba) starts to "boil over", but because there's waaaay too many ingredients, the stew did eventually "burn" and became a kind of gelatin.  
  
moral of the story: if someone cooks this bad with a large metal pot, don't bother trying to clean it. throw it away and get a replacement instead! ....and you might want to get a better chef. ;)
