RnD 3.2.0 windows installer causes access violation in Win2K

The windows installer runs fine here (WinXP) but crashes with an access violation on my friends PC (Win 2000).
Very strange -- I tested the installer with Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. And even the Windows 2000 installation was tested on two different systems: On a "real" PC, and in a VMware with Windows 2000 -- both installed and worked just fine!
Is this problem reproducible after a reboot? Does it happen on other W2k installations, too? Does the user that was logged in when installing have administration privileges, or was it an unprivileged user?
