New Feature for RND?

Post by Gamer96 »

I was wondering, instead of waiting for the tape to load for (example) Zelda, 2 hours! Can a new feature be added where you can type the excact time you want to go to in the tape? I think it's a good idea,
But, you guys? :?:
I am happy. :D

Sounds like a useful idea (especially for those overly long tapes)! :-)

(BTW: Moved that topic to "New Ideas".)

Yes, a good idea, a tape player with the same funktions like a video player in the computer:
A time bar you can move with the curser.

That's be pretty neat! :)
BTW, why does the snapshot work sometimes, but not other times? I still haven't worked out the details on this feature yet.

It can only work on one level at a time. This is due to the huge memory a snapshot requires (about 3 MB of raw data). This is also the reason why snapshots are not saved to disk. (Imagine playing 20 levels and taking a snapshot on each one, POW 60 MB gone for only 20 levels). So the thing is, if you load a level, save snapshot, load another level, save another snapshot, the first snapshot is gone.
