An option to play back all audio in mono rather than stereo

Got a cool idea that should be in R'n'D? Let's hear it!

Not sure if this would count as an accessibility feature or just plain practical. For example, I can only hear out of my right ear as of right now, so this would be plenty useful for me.

This seems like something you should solve at the system or even hardware level. System: tell your system-wide audio mixer to meld together both channels and deliver to the right ear. Hardware: set up external device to do the same, between machine & headphones. (I assume headphones because if speakers, it's all in the air and would make less difference -- though of course still some...)

How to do those software & hardware feats? Both should be possible, but depends on your system etc. Might require add-on software; some sort of open source dingus should be available.
