Re: rocksndiamonds linux apps
how do i run and installing with rocks'n'diamonds 0.9 on linux commands? It's relatively easy if you know how to execute Linux commands on the command line. First, install git, gcc, make and the Xpm library (you will need both the runtime and development package). This can be done with the followin...

Re: rocksndiamonds linux apps
Regarding version numbers, I assume you mean R'n'D version 0.9 / 0.9b (which were the first publicly available versions of the game)? In this case you have to recompile anyway, as the included binaries from those historic packages do not run on current Linux systems. However, for those interesed in ...

Re: rocksndiamonds linux apps
Yes, this may happen, especially on Linux systems, which is a more heterogenous platform than the Windows/Mac/Android systems (although it currently may also happen on Mac systems, as there is still no native ARM ("Apple Silicon") binary available, but it can be run using Rosetta 2). BTW: ...

Re: Sokomania in the Spaceship 1, level 4
Hi Cosmos, welcome to the forum! :) I am almost sure that this is a bug that was most probably caused not by the level designer, but by the programmer of the game (oops, that's me  ). This level was created in 2003, which was a year or frequent and heavy changes in the game program, not always...

Yes, exactly. The upcoming native BD engine will handle this correctly.

Re: Boulderdash conversion
Amoeba growing speed: Do you have an example for me? Filename or GameName? Level? Then I can check them. This one: btw. BDCFF -> this levelset is original BD01 with 20*5 levels. For example, see level 8, which has an amoeba with speed 75, which is incredibly fast. In comparison, I use the value &qu...

Re: HaG@HaG
Check if "bdcff.conf" exists and is in right format (Unix/Windows). If a program crashes or not should not depend on the existence or correct format of a config file. :-D When does it happen? Starting RND and play BDCFF first? or after starting some other Levels? In both cases. Try my &qu...

Re: Boulderdash conversion
Have you already played one of the BD games? Or all caves? Not all ;-), but some of them indeed seem to be playable, although levels using the amoeba sometimes are unplayable, as it grows too fast. :( Now it's up to you Holger to write a Boulderdash engine. Yes, and as mentioned, I'm current...

Re: HaG@HaG
The Boulder Dash level format stuff (loading native BD style files in BD, BDCFF and GAMEBD format) looks promising. I have compiled the modified game and was successfully able to load some of the included native BD levels! However, I also got a crash (Segmentation fault) on level set "BDCFF&quo...

Re: Restart on GUI
the point of this idea was just higher accessibility to object rotation for mobile users That's right, but the question is: Are there really any people out there which create new levels on a mobile device? I think R'n'D should definitely be playable on mobile devices, and it should also be possible...
