Re: Emerald Mine Club levelset completion progress
Hey Rap, Great progress! I totally agree that any current Emerald Mine engine needs skippable levels because some of them are just too tedious or batshit crazy difficult to pass. I just wanted to make a quick comment on the "go invisible" part of the "into the terrible tunnels" l...

Re: Any way to extract DX-Boulder sprites?
Hey Rap, It's nice that someone still remembers that game:-) DX Boulder was my first "real" software development project and I knew sh*t about coding back then so I ran myself into every trap that DIY software juniors can ran into :-) But still is was fun. The MagicP spriteset was just a b...

Re: Emerald Mine Club levelset completion progress
@rap: 1993 is the year of the "player": the engine that plays the caves, which is not necessarily the year the caves where designed. as Holger said: the file date of the levels is 2021, which is obviously not correct. So I just settled for a question mark: "somewhere in the nineties&q...

Re: Emerald Mine Club levelset completion progress
Hi Rap, It only took me 20 months to notice you mentioned my name :-) I've been in contact with Sandancer of EMC GB , his real name is Bryan Waters, I could pass you his email address if you want. I thought it maybe would be nice to do a little article on the most active EM Clubs, this year marking ...

hi RAP Indeed, getting a common file format is not that simple as it may sound :-) with little effort you get a format that is perfect for 90% of the cases and then all the subtle differences come creeping in adding complexity over complexity over complexity. and the last 2% is almost impossible to ...

Thanks Logicdeluxe I'll get the specs at http://www.emeraldmines.net/BDCFF/ up to date as soon as possible. I haven't really followed the discussion in this thread the last months as it seemed Boulderdash-centered (obviously), which I don't know much about. Funny how everybody runs into specific nic...

Ah, thanks holger I'll look into it Interesting thread ! about the spamming. Hmm - manual spamming? That's very hard too counter. The BDCFF proposal can be locked down to the people with an interest in updating it (maybe with a password) But protecting a general forum against human manual spammers ....

Hey RAP! Cool Wiki ! I thought that Martijn was planning a Boulder Wiki , which would be great. About the Emerald Mine Club: All the games on that site are allready on this forum. There are still some missing mines however that nobody seems to have (including the EMC) They're listed on http://www.em...

If I remember correctly a EM exit is destroyable. Yep, in EM an exit (both closed and open) is destroyable. Therefore, looks like the exact same element as the BD_exit, no? no need to define a separate element for that. @Steffest: To avoid any confusion, I can rename all defined EM_xxx elements for...
